Airchat is a new social media doing rounds on Twitter, founded by Naval Ravikant (founder of AngelList) and Brian Norgard (former Chief Product Offer at Tinder).

It's an audio-only app. You have to send an audio recording to post or reply to a post. The app automatically transcribes the audio while posting the audio.
There's no typing functionality. The app focuses on building real connections and does not have an edit feature (though audio notes can be easily deleted). Naval's word -
Humans are all meant to get along with other humans, it just requires the natural voice. Online text-only media has given us this delusion that people can't get along, but actually everybody can get along.
Users can listen to voice notes at 1x/2x/3x speeds, or read the auto-transcriptions.
How to join Airchat? 🪩
AirChat is currently in invite-only mode and is riding the initial hype cycle. The founders are constantly emphasizing to invite only friends that one can vouch for. One reason for this is to avoid spam & fake accounts.
After installing the Airchat app and registering, the app will check if any of your contacts are on Airchat. You can reach out to those contacts for easy invites. But they might not have an invite left. Read below for another way.
How to get the Airchat Invite? 💌
Invites are based on phone number, and there are multiple ways to get an invite on your number -
- Ask your contacts on Airchat - the app will show you such contacts after registering on app
- TRICK: Check for tweets willing to share invite. I got an invite like this!
- Check for tweets from users who are genuinely willing to share invites (and do not have more than a few replies requesting an invite)
- Pro tip: ignore tweets asking you to follow or retweet for an invite
If this does not work, you will have to wait for any of your contacts to join the app and send an invite.
